International cooperation

Information on tried-and-true supervision methods and practices is exchanged in strategic cooperation with the intelligence overseers of various states. The themes of the Ombudsman's international cooperation have included, for example, the impact of technological advances on intelligence activities and their supervision.

The similarities in the judicial and social systems of the Nordic countries lay a natural foundation for cooperation between overseers of intelligence activities. The Intelligence Ombudsman attends the meeting of Nordic secret service oversight bodies (Nordisk møte for kontrollorganer med hemmelige tjenester) held every two years. 

The Ombudsman also participates in the work of the European Intelligence Oversight Conference (EIOC) and European Intelligence Oversight Network (EION).
