In October 2023, the Intelligence Ombudsman launched a preliminary probe into the legality of intelligence activities and in February 2024, the case was reported to the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to Article 16 of the Intelligence Oversight Act, the Intelligence Ombudsman may report the matter to the authority deciding on the pre-trial investigation if the Ombudsman considers that the subject of oversight has acted unlawfully.
